itison presents: GlasGLOW

Oli Norman , Founder & CEO

It’s two weeks to go ‘til people get the first glimpse of GlasGLOW: our brand new, world-class event in Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens. We’re pretty excited about it.

GlasGLOW is an idea we’ve dreamt of for over 10 years: an annual Halloween sound and light event, the likes of which the heart of the city has never seen. Now, with the teams behind itison Drive-In Movies and some of the country’s most incredible sound and light events, we’re finally bringing GlasGLOW to life this Halloween.

So, what is it?

Think Stranger Things meets Game of Thrones (but PG-rated!) with nostalgic nods to the worlds of Spielberg and Disney… all coming together to create an immersive journey into a realm of magic.

We’re investing £500k in the event and have assembled a world-class production team to bring it to life. We don’t like to brag, but we think it’s going to be pretty f-ing cool.

Our ambition

We’ve got huge ambitions for GlasGLOW. We want to create an incredible event for everyone to enjoy: families; couples; groups of friends; instagrammers who want to get some seriously impressive pictures; those on a quest to meet a dragon; people who don’t want to forget the 80s; and anyone and everyone who wants to see Glasgow in its best light.

With almost 50,000 tickets sold for the event already we’re heading for a sell out, driving thousands of people to the West End. We’re launching Dine & GLOW on itison, our curated picks of the top bars and restaurants in the area, giving attendees great options to make a night of it and giving our hosts a powerful advert to an engaged (and excited!) audience.

GlasGLOW and the community

We’re creating an annual event that the whole community can look forward to, which will benefit businesses big and small across Glasgow’s West End. In year 2 and beyond, we want to make GlasGLOW even bigger and make Glasgow the home of Halloween. We want GlasGLOW to be accessible for everyone, and we’re creating a community fund to support amazing free events in the area.
